We’re excited to welcome you to the BirdsCaribbean 25th International Conference, bringing together scientists, wildlife professionals, conservationists, educators, decision-makers, ecotourism interests, students, and bird enthusiasts from across the Caribbean and beyond.

How to Register

We are using the Whova conference platform for registration.

Step 1: Review the registration categories below and identify the option that best fits you.

Step 2: Choose one of the registration options below.

Option 1:

Register and pay via Whova: Click the Register button below, then select your ticket type (registration category) by setting the quantity to one. Complete the form and pay securely by credit card on the platform. Note: Whova platform fees apply.


Option 2:

(Preferred) Register via Whova, pay separately: Click the Register button, scroll down, and select the “Alternative Payment Method Ticket” (set quantity to one). You will choose your registration category later in the form. After submitting, you will receive a confirmation email with payment instructions.

  • You can then complete your payment via our Conference Registration Payment page on Givebutter, which offers lower processing fees and multiple payment options (credit/debit card, PayPal, Venmo, Cash App Pay, ACH, check, or cash).


Option 3:

Apply for a Travel Scholarship (review information here): If you plan to apply for travel support, click the Register button, scroll down, and select the “Travel Scholarship Application Ticket” (set quantity to one). Complete the form and submit your application. You will be notified once a decision has been made. Note: Submitting a Travel Scholarship application serves as your provisional registration.

  • Regular Member (Caribbean Nationals): For current (2026) BirdsCaribbean members who are not residents of Trinidad and Tobago. Includes Life Members (legacy category) and Sponsored Members.
  • Regular Member (Outside the Caribbean): For current (2026) BirdsCaribbean members residing outside the Caribbean islands. Includes Life Members (legacy category) and Sponsored Members.
  • Regular Non-member (Caribbean Nationals): For non-members from the Caribbean (excluding Trinidad and Tobago). Registration includes a discounted 2026 BirdsCaribbean membership ($25).
  • Regular Non-member (Outside the Caribbean): For non-members residing outside the Caribbean islands. Registration includes a discounted 2026 BirdsCaribbean membership ($35).
  • Student Member: For current (2026) BirdsCaribbean members who are registered students.
  • Student Non-member: For students who are not current BirdsCaribbean members. Registration includes a discounted 2026 membership ($25).
  • Local (Trinidad and Tobago resident): For attendees residing in Trinidad and Tobago.
  • Local Day 1 only (Trinidad & Tobago Day) – July 23: For Trinidad and Tobago residents attending the Trinidad & Tobago Day session only (1:30–5:30 PM) on July 23.
  • Daily Pass (1-2 days) – Price per day: For attendees participating for one or two days only. Price is per day. Please note that the Day 1 Welcome Reception (July 23) and Day 5 Banquet Dinner (July 27) are not included and require an additional fee.
  • Companion: For individuals not attending the conference sessions, but who wish to participate in social events, including the Welcome Cocktail, conference lunches, and Banquet Dinner.

What’s Included

Regular, Student, and Local registration fees include:

  • Full access to all sessions and workshops during the main conference
  • Conference bag and materials
  • Access to the conference app
  • Welcome reception
  • Morning coffee breaks and lunches on Days 1, 2, 4, and 5 (Day 3 is reserved for field trips)
  • Closing reception and banquet

Breakfast is included with your hotel stay. For triple occupancy at the Hyatt, an additional $30 USD breakfast fee applies for the third guest.

Local (1–2 day) registration includes:

  • Conference bag
  • Access to the conference app
  • Morning coffee break and lunch on the days attended

Not sure if you’re a current member? Email Alexia Morales at [email protected] with the subject “Am I a current member?” and she will confirm your 2026 status.

Sponsored memberships: If cost is a barrier, you may request a sponsored membership by contacting Delores Kellman ([email protected]) with the subject “Sponsored membership requested.” Please include your name, title, organization or school, country, contact details, and indicate whether you are a student. You will receive a response within 48–72 hours.

Travel Scholarships

If you require financial assistance (e.g., registration, accommodation, workshops, mid-conference field trips, airfare), select the Travel Scholarship Application Ticket on the Registration page (scroll down to see this). This serves as both your application and tentative conference registration.

Deadlines:

  • International applicants: Saturday, May 2, 2026 (extended)
  • Trinidad and Tobago residents: Wednesday, May 20, 2026

Workshops

We are offering a variety of exciting pre-conference workshops on July 22nd. Learn more here and see the schedule below. You can select your preferred workshop(s) during registration. A $30 add-on fee applies and includes the venue, refreshments, lunch, materials, and translation services. Sponsorship may be available if needed.

Field Trips

Field trips are not included in the conference registration fee. We invite you to explore our exciting pre-, mid-, and post-conference options (details being finalized!). A separate registration and payment link will be shared soon.

Refund Policy for Conference Registration Fee

If you cancel your attendance at the BirdsCaribbean 25th International Conference more than 60 days before the conference (by May 23, 2026), you will receive a full refund minus a 10% processing fee.

Cancellations made between 60 and 20 days prior (May 24–July 3, 2026) will receive a 50% refund of the registration fee.

Cancellations made less than 20 days before the conference begins (after July 3, 2026) are non-refundable.
