Birds, People, Prosperity: Harnessing the Caribbean’s Natural Advantage

The five-day program for BirdsCaribbean’s 25th International Conference will feature inspiring keynote speakers, hands-on workshops, thought-provoking symposia, and interactive round-table discussions exploring the latest science, conservation strategies, education initiatives, and community-driven projects across the Caribbean. Together, these sessions will highlight practical solutions for protecting birds while strengthening the ecosystems and communities that depend on them.

Throughout the program, we will explore how thriving nature supports thriving people. Sessions will examine innovative approaches that connect bird conservation with sustainable livelihoods, community engagement, and regenerative and nature-based tourism. Highlights include special symposia on avitourism and regenerative tourism—developed with HADCO Experiences—and a “Trinidad & Tobago Day” symposium showcasing local research, conservation initiatives, environmental education programs, and sustainable tourism efforts.
